Persistent Accreting Neutron Stars in the INTEGRAL Galactic Plane Survey
Abstract
As part of its core program, the recently launched European INTEGRAL satellite will perform regular scans of the galactic plane within b=+/- 9.6deg. Every 12 days, a ∼60deg wide piece of the galactic plane will be observed. Our team will use these scans to monitor the spectral evolution of more than 20 pulsating persistent neutron star sources.
We present an overview over the monitoring program, including the available simultaneous observations in other wavebands, and present results from the first few galactic plane scans, where -- amongst others -- Vela X-1, Cen X-3, and GX301-2 have already been detected.- Publication:
